The Opportunity

This is our fifth product in the ecosystem and a true greenfield opportunity. We're looking for a highly autonomous Senior Clojure engineer who thrives with ownership - someone capable of leading implementation, shaping architecture, and building core systems with a high degree of independence from day one.

This is not a role for someone who wants a narrow ticket queue. It's for someone who enjoys figuring things out, building from first principles, and taking real technical responsibility for a product in its earliest stage.

What You'll Do

Design and develop backend systems in Clojure powering Vera's core intelligence and orchestration capabilities. Build the infrastructure that enables shared context, reasoning, coordination, and decision support across multiple AI products. Work across the stack where needed; our frontend is built with Datastar, not a traditional React/JS setup. Contribute to technical direction, architecture decisions, peer reviews, and knowledge sharing across a senior engineering environment.

What We're Looking For

• Deep, senior-level Clojure expertise - you know the ecosystem, not just the syntax.

• Strong PostgreSQL skills: schema design, query performance, and real-world operational experience.

• Experience with Integrant for system architecture and Temporal for workflow orchestration is strongly preferred.

• Comfortable working with Datastar on the frontend side.

• Familiarity with Lisp-family languages (Common Lisp, Scheme, Racket) is a plus.

• A strong systems thinker who values clean, performant code and enjoys solving complex product and architecture problems with autonomy and ownership.
